I do have to say that at least my entries have finally imported to Dreamwidth. I spoke to soon when I said to olde_fashioned that my comments had imported because I thought they had, but they haven't yet. Hopefully soon. At least its on its way.

I saw this on the import page:

We are processing imports from LiveJournal, but we are processing them very slowly to avoid making the DDoS problem worse for LiveJournal's operations team. This means that if you're importing from LiveJournal, your import job will take a very long time.

You will receive a notice in your Dreamwidth Inbox when your import completes, fails, or times out. Until you receive that notice, your import job is still scheduled and will run in turn.


They're trying, which is something. :)

I set up my graphics journal over at DW. Put my LJ graphics lj in line to be imported. Last night my profile page was there, but no entries yet. Will check later today on that. :)

Good luck! I hope everything imports for you in time. I'm still waiting for my comments. The comments queue is at 51. If it goes down, I'll open a new import and get back in line. :)

I just registered and got in line for an import. Tags, bio (sans some of the code), etc. are all there shockingly fast, but no entries yet.

This is just an emergency thing unless something happens to my LJ, ha ha!

It takes no time to import everything except entries and comments. Be prepared to wait it out, I'm afraid. I started mine a week ago and restarted twice and still nothing. The queue for entries is around 1200 right now, so there you go. But at least you'll have a good back up when it does come through. :)

I do have to say I like the cross posting thing, that way I don't have to keep making backups. But I'm staying at LJ until it totally croaks (hopefully that won't happen).

Unfortunately, no. LJ doesn't do the crossposting thing to DW. Wish they did, it would be so much easier.
